Adja Soro is an Ivorian creative entrepreneur whose work embodies the spirit of International Women’s Day 2026 by amplifying representation, empowerment, and cultural pride. In 2015, she founded Voyelles Éditions, a publishing house committed to introducing children to Africa’s rich heritage through books distributed across schools and libraries in Côte d’Ivoire. Her global perspective expanded in 2017 as a Mandela Washington Fellow, where engagement with young African leaders strengthened her vision of deeper connections between Africans and the diaspora. Inspired by her daughter’s search for relatable role models, Soro turned to animation as a tool for change, founding Studio KÄ in 2019. The independent studio creates educational and entertaining stories featuring characters with authentic African identities, encouraging children to see themselves as confident and valued. Recognised with the Women in Africa Education Award in 2020, Soro continues to reshape narratives, ensuring African stories inspire inclusion, self-belief, and global cultural appreciation.
